Diversity & inclusion. — Endo45

Endo45 acknowledges the diverse experiences of those with endometriosis. We recognise that not all sufferers identify as female, possess medical insurance, or have consistent access to healthcare. We are steadfast in our commitment to embrace the rich tapestry of identities and backgrounds that individuals suffering bring.

Our objectives

  • Inclusive language — ensure our website, app and outreach materials use language that resonates with everyone.
  • Diverse leadership & staff — strive for diverse representation at all levels of our organisation, especially our Board of Directors.
  • Outreach — increase targeted initiatives to reach underserved and overlooked communities.
  • Support for low-income communities — prioritise those who may not have access to specialised mental and reproductive healthcare.
  • Anti-discrimination stance — maintain a strong position against discrimination of any form, ensuring no one is excluded based on race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs or disability.

Our actions

  • Training — implement mandatory diversity and inclusion training for all Board Members and staff.
  • Strategic commitment — continuously embed our diversity and inclusion aspirations within our strategic planning.
  • Leadership opportunities — encourage members from diverse backgrounds to take up leadership and volunteer roles within our organisation.
  • Incorporate diverse insights — actively engage diverse individuals living with endometriosis in an advisory capacity. Their invaluable perspectives will inform our efforts and ensure our services resonate with everyone.

We recognise that our journey towards total inclusivity is ongoing. We are devoted to continuous learning, active listening and adapting based on feedback from our cherished Endo45 community.

Please note: some reference material wording uses pronouns (she/her), woman, women and female. When these words are used, Endo45 recognises that not all those born with a uterus identify as this gender. Endo45 strives to be inclusive of all identities in its approach.
